There are two cases in this book: the serial murders and a haunting.
I would read more books from this series to decide. It could be that Sam and Dean weren't as interesting as they are on a screen. Dean calling Sam Sammich (I don't remember that ever happening) and listing every single band and their songs didn't help make this a better story either.
Now, I love Poe and usually when his motifs are used in fiction, I like it. Someone is trying to recreate a resurrection ritual killing people in a manner found in Poe's stories and poems. You won't be surprised that with a title Nevermore plus a specific setting, it has to be about Poe or his works. The blurb promises a lot more than you'll get.
